Distinguished Speaker Series presents…
The Pursuit of Happiness: Healthy Longevity by Dr. Aboo Nasar MD.MPH.MBA
Depression and other Mental Health disorders have had an upward surge here in the US with little advancement in treatment, despite medical advancements in treating some chronic physical diseases. The popularly accepted theory that depression is caused by an alteration in chemical balance has been challenged. Additionally, in the human genome project, we know that there are 300 million epigenetic regulatory sites identified so far. That opens up a whole gamut of life style modifying factors that would regulate our health, both physical and mental.  There is emerging scientific data to support the undeniable role of diet and exercise. In both the Harvard’s 75-year-long Happiness Study and The Gratitude Study, new frontiers are opened up regarding spirituality, health and gratitude.
